The current edition of the ADIB Cup is showing a more balanced and tactically disciplined contest, as reflected in the competition’s numbers so far.
A total of 24 matches have produced 71 goals, with an average of 2.96 goals per game, the lowest across the last four editions. This points to improved defensive organisation and a more cautious approach from teams.
Seventeen matches have produced a winner, while seven ended in draws, including three goalless encounters, highlighting the competitive balance and the difficulty in separating teams.
The scoring patterns further underline this trend.
Only seven goals have come from outside the box, while five were scored with headers, showing a clear preference for attacking through central areas and finishing inside the penalty area rather than relying on long-range efforts or crosses.
A total of 11 penalties have been awarded, with eight successfully converted, reflecting solid efficiency in decisive moments.
At the team level, Al Wahda lead the scoring charts with 12 goals, followed closely by Al Ain with 11, confirming their attacking consistency throughout the competition.
Al Nasr stand out in a different aspect, leading in successful dribbles with 72. Kevin Agudelo has completed 34 dribbles, while Abdoulaye Toure has added 15, highlighting the team’s reliance on individual skill to create attacking opportunities.
Individually, Laba Kodjo has scored three goals so far and is now just one goal away from equalling Al Ain’s all-time scoring record in the competition, currently held by Caio Lucas with 12 goals, placing him on the verge of a notable milestone.
