Two second-half goals from Sardar Azmoum and Saeid Ezatolahi helped Shabab Al Ahli win the Dubai derby after beating Al Nasr 2-0 in matchweek 11 of the ADNOC Pro League on Sunday.
It was a cagey first half, with Shabab Al Ahli dominating the game and possession and Al Nasr focusing entirely on defense.
Al Nasr succeeded in securing the goalless draw.
The only goal-scoring chance was made in the 17th minute when Munas Dabbur hit the crossbar with a curling effort.
Shabab Al Ahli exerted pressure throughout the second half, and they got what they wanted in the 76th minute when Guilherme Da Silva was awarded a penalty kick for a foul on Al Nasr's goalkeeper Abdulla Altamimi.
Sardar Khalil Azmoum successfully converted from the spot after stepping up and sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
Saeid Ezatolah secured the three points for Shabab Al Ahli as he towered above Al Nasr's defense to head in Yuri Cesar's cross.
This means that Shabab Al Ahli are now second with 26 points, while Al Nasr sit fourth with 19 points.
