Bani Yas returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kalba in matchweek 13 of the ADNOC Pro League.
The result ended their winless streak since matchweek 3 and lifted them to 12 points, now sitting in 11th place.
Kalba, on the other hand, remain in 8th place with 17 points after the narrow defeat.
The first half saw a cautious start from both teams, with incomplete attacks and missed opportunities dominating the early minutes.
The breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Andrei Burca confidently converted a penalty kick, giving Bani Yas the lead.
Notably, three of Bani Yas's last six goals against Kalba in the ADNOC Pro League have come from the penalty spot.
Kalba came out strong in the second half, determined to find an equalizer.
They pressed high and created several chances, but the final touch was often missing.
The Tigers’ best opportunity came in the 75th minute when Leandro Spadacio leite showed his skill with a dazzling solo run, weaving past multiple defenders before firing a powerful left-footed shot.
However, Bani Yas goalkeeper Fahad Aldhanhani produced a sensational save to keep his team ahead.
Despite continued pressure from Kalba, including a series of late attacks, Bani Yas’s defense held firm, leaving the home side frustrated as the visitors celebrated a well-earned three points.
