Igor Gomes Silva scored a last-gasp winner to secure a 2-1 victory for Shabab Al Ahli over Kalba in matchweek 21 of the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.
The drama and the excitement were present in the second half, especially in the stoppage time as Cartabia scored the opener for Shabab Al Ahli before Shahriyar Moghanloo hit a 90th-minute equalizer for Kalba.
The Dubai-based side refused to throw away another two points in the title race as Igor Gomes Silva's clinical finish saved the three points for the visitors.
Cartabia found the breakthrough five minutes after the hour-mark when he rocketed a shot across the floor, which was far out of reach for goalkeeper Sultan Al Manthari.
Shahriyar Moghanloo scored the equalizer in the dying moments when he climbed above Shabab Al Ahli's defense to head in Ahmed Shehda Abunamous' cross.
Substitute Igor Gomes Silva's clinical finish from inside the penalty area in the last minute of the game sealed the victory and secured three points for Shabab Al Ahli.
The result means that Shabab Al Ahli are now topping the lead with 52 points, while Kalba sit 11th with 22 points.
