Al Dhafra earned their first victory of the ADNOC Pro League season with a 3-1 win over Al Wasl at Hamdan Bin Zayed Stadium on Saturday evening, in the second day of Matchweek 2.
The result secured Al Dhafra their opening three points of the campaign, while Al Wasl remained on the same tally after suffering their first defeat of the season.
Marcelo Filho gave Al Dhafra the lead in the 8th minute after combining with Ezeckiel Noumonvi.
Al Wasl responded by regaining their attacking rhythm, gradually working their way back into the game.
Their persistence was rewarded in the 41st minute when Fabio Lima leveled the score after a smart pass from Pedro Malheiro, sending the sides into halftime locked at 1-1.
The second half belonged to the hosts. Substitute Karim El Berkaoui restored the advantage in the 63rd minute, before Khalil Ibrahim struck six minutes later to seal a memorable victory.
