Shabab Al Ahli, the defending champions, remain firmly in the ADNOC Pro League title race despite sitting three points off the top after five matchweeks.
With 10 points from three wins, one draw, and one defeat, the Dubai side currently occupy fourth place, but their experience, squad depth, and quality foreign players continue to make them one of the league’s strongest contenders.
The champions are also chasing history this season, aiming to become the most successful club in the professional era. A sixth title would see them move clear of Al Ain, with both sides currently tied on five league crowns apiece.
Statistically, Shabab Al Ahli’s campaign has been solid. They have scored four goals and conceded just once, giving them the league’s joint-best defensive record.
They also rank second in passing with 2,063 completed passes, trailing only Al Wasl’s 2,292. In addition, they share the top spot for clean sheets with Al Wahda on four, and they stand third for shots on target with 50.
Their next challenge comes on October 17, when they travel to Kalba in Matchweek 6, looking to close the gap on leaders Al Ain and strengthen their push for back-to-back titles.
