Khorfakkan edged past Ajman in a pulsating encounter, earning a 2-1 victory thanks to a superb late strike from Pedro Pavlov that settled the contest ten minutes from time.
Waleed Azaro carved out the first real opening after 20 minutes, his side-footed effort forcing an excellent save from Khorfakkan goalkeeper Ahmed Al Hosani, who stretched brilliantly to keep his side level.
The breakthrough arrived in first-half stoppage time when Tarik Tissoudali showed his class with a clinical finish, steering Aylton Filipe’s pinpoint cross beyond the Ajman goalkeeper to hand Khorfakkan a deserved lead at the interval.
Ajman responded with renewed intent after the break, and their persistence paid off midway through the second half.
Junior Flemmings applied a composed first-time finish to a precise cross from Lithierry Silva, drawing his side level and swinging the momentum firmly in Ajman’s favour.
But the joy was short-lived. Just six minutes later, Pedro Pavlov produced a moment of pure brilliance, meeting a loose ball on the edge of the area with a stunning volley that arrowed into the far corner.
It was a goal worthy of winning any match, restoring Khorfakkan’s advantage and ultimately sealing all three points.
The result lifts Khorfakkan to eleventh place on seven points, while Ajman sit seventh with nine, as both sides continue their battle for consistency in the ADNOC Pro League.
