Al Nasr Snatch Late Draw Against Al Wahda

Al Nasr snatched a dramatic 2-2 draw against Al Wahda at Al Maktoum Stadium in Matchweek 21 of the ADNOC Pro League.

The match began at a high tempo, as Al Nasr took an early lead in just the third minute through Zayed Sultan.

The goal, confirmed after a VAR review, became the fastest goal recorded in meetings between the two sides in the Pro League era.

Al Wahda responded well and found the equaliser in the 18th minute, when Omar Khribin fired home from inside the penalty area to continue his strong scoring form against Al Nasr.

In the second half, Al Wahda turned the game in their favour.

Christian Benteke put the visitors ahead in the 54th minute with a powerful header, marking his first goal for the club and giving his side control of the contest.

Al Wahda’s task became more difficult in the closing stages when they were reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Favour Inyeka Ogbu after receiving a second yellow card. Despite their numerical disadvantage, they appeared on course for victory.

However, Al Nasr had the final say. Deep into stoppage time, Cheickna Doumbia struck in the 90+8 minute to secure a dramatic equaliser and earn his side a valuable point.

The result lifts Al Nasr to 28 points in sixth place, while Al Wahda move to 35 points in fourth.
