ADNOC Pro League: Race at the Top and Survival Fight Collide in MW 18

The ADNOC Pro League enters Matchweek 18 at a decisive stage of the season, where ambitions intensify and every point carries added significance. The round will be played over three days, from Wednesday 25 February to Friday 27 February, with all matches kicking off simultaneously at 21:30.

The spotlight on the opening day falls on the Dubai Derby, as Al Wasl host Shabab Al Ahli at Zabeel Stadium in a clash that could reshape the race at the top.

Al Wasl sit fourth with 29 points and have a game in hand, while Shabab Al Ahli are second with 41 points, also with a postponed match to play. With both sides chasing the summit and boasting squads rich in attacking quality, the derby promises intensity and high stakes.

On the same evening, Al Wahda welcome Ajman to Al Nahyan Stadium. Al Wahda, third with 30 points, aim to recover from last round’s disappointment, while sixth-placed Ajman, on 23 points, arrive full of confidence after their recent win.

Thursday brings another compelling encounter as Al Jazira face Sharjah at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium. Al Jazira hold fifth place with 28 points, while Sharjah sit tenth with 17.

Despite the gap in the standings, meetings between the two sides have often defied expectations, adding further intrigue to the fixture. In the day’s other match, Kalba, eighth with 18 points, take on Al Dhafra, who are just one point behind in eleventh, setting up a tightly balanced contest.

The final day of the round features crucial battles at both ends of the table. Dibba, second from bottom with 12 points, host Al Nasr, who are seventh with 22 points and aiming to strengthen their position in the top half.

Al Bataeh, twelfth with 13 points, meet bottom-placed Bani Yas, who have 11 points, in a match that could significantly impact the lower standings. Meanwhile, Khorfakkan, ninth with 19 points, face league leaders Al Ain, who sit on 41 points and remain focused on maintaining their momentum in the title race.
