Kalba and Al Dhafra played out an intense 1-1 draw at Kalba Stadium on Thursday evening in Matchweek 18 of the ADNOC Pro League, with both goals arriving in the closing stages of the match.
The contest was evenly balanced for long periods, as both sides searched for a breakthrough.
Kalba threatened first in the 17th minute, but Al Dhafra goalkeeper Amjad Alsayed produced an important save to keep the scores level. Despite moments of attacking intent from both teams, the first half ended without goals.
Al Dhafra came close early in the second half when Karim El Berkaoui fired a powerful effort in the 49th minute, but his attempt drifted over the crossbar.
The breakthrough finally arrived in the 79th minute, when Yaser Alblooshi showed determination and skill to beat the defence before finishing to give Kalba the lead.
However, the advantage was short-lived. Just three minutes later, Marcelo Filho met a well-placed cross to score the equaliser in the 82nd minute, setting up a tense finish.
Both teams pushed for a late winner, but neither could find the decisive goal, and the match ended in a draw, with each side earning a point.
The result moves Kalba to 20 points in eighth place, while Al Dhafra reach 18 points in tenth.
