Bani Yas secured a valuable 2-1 win over Kalba at Kalba Stadium in Matchweek 23 of the ADNOC Pro League, raising their tally to 25 points in seventh place, while Kalba remain on 23 points in eleventh.
Bani Yas took the lead in the 26th minute through Munas Dabbur, who finished from a cross by Yahya Nader. Kalba responded quickly, equalising just three minutes later as Miha Blažič headed home from a corner delivered by Saman Ghoddos.
Despite Kalba enjoying more possession in the first half, Bani Yas remained efficient and dangerous when moving forward.
The second half saw Kalba increase their attacking pressure, with Leonardo leading several threatening moves, but they were unable to find the breakthrough.
Bani Yas gradually regained control and capitalised in the 75th minute, when Nemanja Dekovic converted from inside the box following a well-worked cross from Hassan Koroma to restore the lead.
Kalba pushed for another equaliser in the closing stages but struggled against Bani Yas’ organised defence. Their task became even more difficult after Miha Blažič was sent off late in the match, as Bani Yas held firm to secure all three points.
