Al Wahda secured a valuable 2-0 away win over Sharjah at Sharjah Stadium in Matchweek 23 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Caio Canedo gave Al Wahda the lead in the 18th minute, before Reza Ghandi Pour sealed the win with a late goal in stoppage time. The result lifts Al Wahda to 39 points in fourth place, while Sharjah remain on 25 points in eighth.
Al Wahda held the upper hand in the first half, not only through Canedo’s early goal but also in possession, controlling 55 percent of the play compared to Sharjah’s 44.
Both teams created chances, with Sharjah registering five attempts, including two on target, while Al Wahda produced four shots, two of which tested the goalkeeper.
The second half saw a more balanced contest, with both sides exchanging attacking moments without clear dominance. Sharjah came close on several occasions but were unable to convert their chances, while Al Wahda remained composed and dangerous on the counter.
In the closing moments, Al Wahda capitalised on their persistence, as Reza Ghandi Pour scored in stoppage time to secure all three points and confirm an important victory.
