Al Nasr Ease Past Al Jazira in Five-Goal Thriller

Al Nasr produced a spirited comeback to secure a 3-2 victory over Al Jazira in an entertaining matchweek 23 clash in the ADNOC Pro League on Friday.

The visitors struck first after 12 minutes when Hammed Rabii reacted quickly to a long through ball and surged forward before delivering a precise low pass across goal.

Vinicius Mello was on hand to apply the simplest of finishes into an empty net, giving Jazira an early advantage.

Al Nasr responded immediately after the break. Just two minutes into the second half, Glauber Siqueira Lima capitalised on a scramble inside the penalty area following a corner, reacting sharply to fire home from close range and level the score at 1-1.

Momentum quickly swung in the hosts’ favour. Three minutes later, Ramon Mierrez completed the turnaround, showing sharp instincts inside the box to poke in the rebound and put Al Nasr 2-1 ahead.

Al Jazira refused to back down and found their way back into the contest in the 67th minute. Mamadou Coulibaly threaded a superb pass into the path of Vinicius Mello, who controlled, twisted past his marker, and finished calmly to restore parity.

However, the decisive moment arrived late on as Cheickna Doumbia latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball from Mehdi Ghayedi, racing through on goal before coolly slotting into the bottom corner to seal the win for Al Nasr.

The result lifts Al Nasr to sixth place on 34 points, while Al Jazira remain third with 40 points after a narrow defeat in a high-quality encounter.
