Bani Yas and Al Dhafra played out an exciting 2-2 draw at Bani Yas Stadium in Abu Dhabi, in Matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Dhafra made a perfect start, taking the lead after just one minute through Karim El Berkaoui, who scored the fastest goal of the season. Bani Yas responded in the 36th minute, with Youssoufou Niakaté finding the equalizer to bring his side back into the game.
In the second half, El Berkaoui struck again in the 56th minute to restore Al Dhafra’s lead.
However, Bani Yas continued to push forward and were rewarded in the 82nd minute when substitute Nassim Chadli scored the equalizer, securing a point for his team.
Following the result, Bani Yas move to 26 points in ninth place, while Al Dhafra reach 19 points in 13th.
Al Dhafra dominated the first half, enjoying 70.8% possession compared to 29.2% for Bani Yas, while also registering more attempts on goal. Despite that, Bani Yas stayed resilient and made the most of their chances.
A key turning point came in the 79th minute when Al Dhafra’s standout performer Karim El Berkaoui was forced off due to injury.
Bani Yas capitalized on the shift in momentum, increasing their pressure before eventually finding the equalizer through Chadli.
