Al Wasl secured a thrilling 3-2 win over hosts Al Wahda at Al Nahyan Stadium in Matchweek 24 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Miguel Borja gave Al Wasl an early lead in the 5th minute, before Facundo Daniel equalized for Al Wahda in the 35th minute.
Nicolas Gimenez restored Al Wasl’s advantage from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, while Omar Khribin brought Al Wahda level once again with a penalty in the 67th minute.
With the match heading towards a draw, Fabio Lima converted a dramatic stoppage-time penalty in the 90+7th minute to seal all three points for Al Wasl.
The win lifts Al Wasl to third place with 42 points, while Al Wahda remain fifth on 39 points.
Al Wasl started aggressively and nearly opened the scoring in the opening minute, only for Pimenta to clear the ball off the line. Moments later, Borja headed home the opener with a well-placed finish.
Al Wahda gradually grew into the game and found the equalizer through Facundo Daniel, ending the first half level at 1-1.
In the second half, Al Wasl regained the lead through Gimenez’s penalty in the 55th minute. Al Wahda responded again after Omar Khribin won and converted a penalty to make it 2-2 in the 67th minute.
The drama continued until stoppage time, when Al Wasl were awarded another penalty, calmly converted by Fabio Lima to secure a dramatic victory.
