Al Ain were crowned ADNOC Pro League champions with two matches to spare after a commanding 5-0 victory over Sharjah in matchweek 24 on Wednesday.
The result put Al Ain at the top of the standings on 62 points, while Sharjah remained 10th with 25 points.
Al Ain made a dream start after 10 minutes when Abdulkarim Trawri timed his run to perfection to meet Matias Palacios’ pinpoint free kick, guiding an emphatic finish into the top corner.
The hosts doubled their advantage five minutes later as pressure inside the area forced Majed Hassan Ahmed to turn Palacios’ dangerous cross into his own net.
Al Ain continued to dominate after the break and struck again six minutes into the second half through Erik Jorgens, who latched onto a superb long through ball from Egyptian defender Rami Rabiea before calmly slotting beyond the goalkeeper.
Soufian Rahimi added a fourth in the 54th minute after collecting Marcel Ratnik’s low pass inside the area and drilling a composed finish into the bottom corner.
Rami Rabiea then rounded off a brilliant individual display three minutes after the hour mark, rising highest to power a header from Palacios’ delivery and complete the scoring, with the Argentine playmaker registering his third assist of the night.
The emphatic victory sealed the ADNOC Pro League title for Al Ain in style, capping off a dominant campaign with one of their most convincing performances of the season.
