The reigning champions strengthened their position at the top of the standings with 65 points, while Al Dhafra remain bottom on 19 points. The result also saw Al Ain become the first team in UAE Pro League history to avoid defeat in their opening 25 matches of a season.
Al Ain controlled the match from the opening whistle and took the lead in the 15th minute through El Houssien Rahimi, who headed home from a corner. Just two minutes later, Abdulkarim Trawri doubled the advantage with another header, underlining Al Ain’s strength from set-pieces.
Soufian Rahimi extended the lead in the 32nd minute with a powerful strike before converting a penalty four minutes later to score his second goal of the evening and Al Ain’s fourth before halftime.
The hosts maintained their attacking pressure after the break and completed the five-goal display in the 73rd minute when Laba Kodjo calmly converted from the penalty spot.
