Bani Yas came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw against Shabab Al Ahli in matchweek 25 of the ADNOC Pro League on Sunday.
The result keeps Shabab Al Ahli in second place on 57 points, while Bani Yas move to 27 points in eighth.
The visitors made a bright start and broke the deadlock after 10 minutes through Mohammed Almansoori, who applied a clinical close range finish following a well worked attacking move.
Bani Yas responded in the 34th minute when Lionel Verde met Saviour Godwin’s cross and calmly slotted home to bring the hosts level.
Shabab Al Ahli restored their advantage five minutes before the break thanks to a moment of brilliance from Almansoori.
The forward picked up the ball inside the area, skipped past his marker and drilled a composed finish into the far corner for his second of the evening.
Bani Yas continued to push after the restart and found their equaliser four minutes after the hour mark.
Following a scramble inside the penalty area, Fawaz Awana reacted quickest to fire a low strike into the bottom corner and rescue a point for the hosts.
