Al Dhafra secured their place in next season’s ADNOC Pro League after earning a dramatic 1-0 win over Al Wahda at Hamdan bin Zayed Stadium in the final round of the 2025-2026 season.
Karim El Berkaoui scored the decisive goal in the 82nd minute to hand Al Dhafra a priceless win, lifting the team to 22 points and 12th place to confirm survival. Al Wahda, meanwhile, finished the campaign in fifth place with 40 points.
The opening half was evenly balanced, with both sides sharing possession equally at 50 percent.
Clear scoring opportunities remained limited, but the match changed significantly in the 34th minute when Al Wahda were reduced to 10 players following the dismissal of Favour Ogbu.
Despite the numerical advantage, Al Dhafra had to remain patient before eventually taking control of the second half through sustained attacking pressure and possession.
Their breakthrough finally arrived in the 82nd minute when Karim El Berkaoui finished from inside the box to send the home supporters into celebration and move Al Dhafra closer to survival.
Goalkeeper Amjad Alsayed also played a major role in preserving the lead, producing several important saves during the closing stages as Al Wahda searched for an equaliser.
The final whistle confirmed Al Dhafra’s survival in dramatic fashion, completing a remarkable escape on the final day of the season.
