Al Jazira secured their first victory of the 2026-27 AFC Champions League Two with a dramatic 2-1 win over Turkmenistan's Arkadag at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium on Wednesday in Matchweek 2 of Group B.
Defender Nermin Mujkic scored the winning goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time, securing three valuable points for the Pride of Abu Dhabi after Arkadag had fought back to level the score.
Following a goalless first half, Al Jazira broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Brazilian midfielder Malcom converted a penalty to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
However, Arkadag responded just 11 minutes later, with Abdy Bäşimow scoring the equaliser in the 66th minute to bring the visitors back into the contest.
With the match heading towards a draw, Al Jazira continued searching for a winner and were rewarded deep into stoppage time.
Mujkic struck in the 90+6th minute to restore Al Jazira's advantage and seal a dramatic home victory.
The result took Al Jazira to four points from two matches and moved them to the top of Group B, following their goalless draw against Iran's Gol Gohar Sirjan in the opening Matchweek.
The victory strengthened Al Jazira's position in the group as they continued their push for a place in the knockout stage.
