Al Ain claimed a dramatic and valuable 1–0 win over Sitra with a stoppage-time goal in the Gulf Club Champions League, in the fifth round of the group stage.
The match, played on Tuesday evening at Khalifa Sports City Stadium, remained goalless until the final moments, before Al Ain found a stunning breakthrough in the 91st minute. Jonas Navo sealed the win with a spectacular overhead kick, sending the home crowd into celebration and securing three crucial points.
With the victory, Al Ain moved up to nine points to sit second in the group standings, one point behind leaders Zakho of Iraq, who have 10 points. Sitra, meanwhile, remain bottom of the group with two points.
