Al Ain came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Al Nasr in matchweek three of the ADNOC Pro League, maintaining their unbeaten start to their pursuit of the league crown.
Chris Bedia broke the deadlock for Al Nasr in the 43rd minute, capitalising on an error from Al Ain defender Rami Rabia. The Egyptian failed to control Marius Hoibraten's long pass, allowing Bedia to steal possession before drilling a low finish into the bottom right corner.
The goal continued Bedia's impressive start to the campaign, with the forward having now scored three of Al Nasr's four goals in the ADNOC Pro League this season.
Hoibraten also made history with his contribution, becoming the first Norwegian player to register an assist in the ADNOC Pro League.
Rabia, however, responded emphatically to his earlier mistake and made amends by dragging Al Ain level. The defender rose highest above the Al Nasr defence to power home a header from Alejandro Romero's pinpoint corner.
The Egyptian then played a key role in completing Al Ain's turnaround, going from scorer to provider in the decisive move.
Rafael Vila unleashed a powerful effort from outside the penalty area before Rabia instinctively redirected it with a clever backheel. The ball struck Georgios Giakoumakis, taking a decisive deflection that wrong-footed the Al Nasr goalkeeper and found its way into the back of the net.
The goal also represented a landmark moment for Giakoumakis, who became the first Greek player to score in the ADNOC Pro League.
Rabia's response ultimately summed up Al Ain's comeback. After his first-half error had gifted Al Nasr the lead, the defender played a decisive role at the other end, scoring the equaliser and contributing to the winner as Al Ain turned the contest around to claim all three points.
