A goal from Soufiane Bouftini and a hat-trick from Fabio De Lima helped Al Wasl to settle a four-goal thriller at Zabeel Stadium, sealing a 4-0 win over Al Dhafra in matchweek five of the ADNOC Pro League on Saturday.
The hosts did not need much time to open the scoring, which they did just 20 minutes from kick-off when Soufiane Bouftini planted a powerful header into the back of the net following a well-played corner-kick by Ali Saleh.
Three minutes before the two teams headed to the dressing rooms for the break, Fabio De Lima cemented his side's lead when he stepped up to curl a superb free-kick into the top corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
In the 47th minute, Al Wasl added the third goal of the night when Siaka Sidibe teed up De Lima on the right wing as the latter brilliantly lobbed the ball into the back of the net with a smart finish.
Eight minutes before the hour-mark, the Brazilian forward grabbed his hat-trick when Ali Saleh sent in an excellent cross from a corner that was nodded on by Aleksandar Vasiljevic 's header for De Lima who was perfectly positioned at the far post to head it in for 4-0.
The result means Al Wasl are now in second place with 11 points, while Al Dhafra remain in the 13th position with four points.
