Sharjah Lead the Charge on Opening Day
Sharjah took the early lead in Matchweek 1, topping the table on goal difference with three points. Six other teams — Al Wahda, Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahli, Khorfakkan, Al Ain and Al Nasr — also picked up opening wins.

Al Ain moved to the top of the table at the end of Matchweek 2, level on six points with Al Nasr but leading on goal difference. Both sides capitalised on slip-ups from their direct rivals, as Shabab Al Ahli and Al Wahda drew, Sharjah lost to Al Jazira, and both Al Wasl and Khorfakkan suffered defeats.
