Hatta claimed their first victory of the 2026-27 ADNOC Pro League season with a dramatic 1-0 win over Bani Yas at Bani Yas Stadium in Matchweek 4.
Ayman Rchoq scored the decisive goal in the 96th minute, striking deep into stoppage time to secure Hatta’s first three points of the campaign.
The victory lifted Hatta to 10th place with three points, while Bani Yas remained without a point in 13th place.
The first half ended goalless after an evenly contested 45 minutes, with both sides looking for an early breakthrough. Bani Yas's Mackenzie Hunt produced the first dangerous attempt in the 10th minute with a free-kick from the edge of the penalty area that deflected off the defense and went behind for a corner.
Bani Yas thought they had broken the deadlock towards the end of the first half when Youssoufou Niakate found the net, but the goal was ruled out following a VAR review due to a foul on Hatta goalkeeper Marzooq Rashed.
Hatta enjoyed 58.6% possession in the opening half compared to Bani Yas’ 41.4%, although the hosts registered five shots to Hatta’s two.
Bani Yas stepped up the pressure after the break and looked the more dangerous side, with Hunt posing a constant threat to the Hatta defense.
Niakate came close to finding the breakthrough in the 85th minute with an effort from inside the penalty area, but his shot was comfortably gathered by Marzooq Rashed.
With the match seemingly heading towards a goalless draw, Hatta produced the decisive moment in the closing seconds. A quick counterattack ended with Ayman Rchoq finding the net in the 96th minute to seal a dramatic victory for the visitors.
