World Leagues Forum Comes up with Recommendations for Reshaping Football's Future

The activities of the annual meeting of the World Leagues Forum (WLF) concluded on Wednesday.

 

 

 

 

The annual meeting of the WLF, which was hosted by the UAE Pro League in Dubai for the first time in the region, comes up with recommendations to reshape the future of football by working on strengthening the technical, administrative, technological, and financial aspects, as well as, other elements, which the International organizations will study them to be applied in accordance with the best relevant standers.

 

 

 

 

The annual meeting was chaired by the UAE Pro League chairman His Excellency Abdulla Naser Al Jneibi and was attended by President of the WLF Enrique Bonilla and General Secretary of the WLF Jerome Perlemuter.

 

 

 

 

On his part, Al Jneibi thanked all the WLF's participants, including the representatives of international sports bodies and leagues around the world, for what they provided during the two-day forum.

 

 

 

 

"Football has become a popular commodity that influences major sectors and is associated with the journeys of digital and technological transformation and the creation of TV content and broadcast," the UAE Pro League chairman said.

 

 

 

 

"The challenges facing professional leagues are a primary topic on our annual meeting agenda as we strive to develop football governance systems, improve the rules of the game, protect the rights of clubs and players, and create a fertile environment for real sports investment," he added.

 

 

 

 

On his part, President of the WLF Enrique Bonilla praised the efforts, exerted by the UAE Pro League to make the event a success and develop Emirati football in general.

 

 

 

 

"The great efforts we witnessed here had a prominent impact on the success of the forum, in addition to, the UAE Pro League's remarkable efforts in developing Emirati football," Bonilla said.

 

 

 

The two-day forum was attended by the presidents of 35 leagues, as well as, representatives of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the European Club Association, the International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO), the International Football Association Board "IFAB" and the International Labor Organization "ILO."
