Shabab Al Ahli vs Al Ain: Coaches' Comments Ahead of Big Clash

Shabab Al Ahli head coach André Jardine and Al Ain manager Vladimir Ivić have expressed confidence in their teams ahead of Saturday's highly anticipated ADNOC Pro League showdown at Rashid Stadium.

The two sides meet on October 17 at 19:45 in Matchweek 6 of the 2026-27 season, with both clubs looking to secure three important points in the race for the top positions.

Jardine said Shabab Al Ahli have prepared well for the encounter and expressed confidence in his players' ability to deliver a strong performance against formidable opponents.

The Shabab Al Ahli coach also stressed the importance of home support as his team prepare for one of their biggest matches of the season.

"We are looking forward to strong support from our fans against a tough opponent, especially as we are playing at home. We want to deliver a good performance and achieve a positive result," Jardine said during his pre-match press conference.

Meanwhile, Al Ain head coach Vladimir Ivic confirmed that his squad are fully prepared for the encounter following a period of intensive work.

He explained that the players maintained their preparations during the league break while also competing in official matches in the cup and AFC Champions League Elite.

"The team are ready for the match. The players have worked hard, both collectively and individually. They understand the importance of the game and are highly motivated," Ivic said.

Asked about the fixture's significance in the title race, Ivic insisted that his team remain focused on the immediate challenge rather than the wider standings.

"We are still only in Matchweek 6, and this match is worth three points, just like every other game. We respect Shabab Al Ahli and know we are facing a strong team, but our objective is clear: to win."

Ivic also dismissed concerns about facing the same opponents twice in different competitions within a short period, insisting that his team's approach would remain unchanged.

"Big matches require concentration, preparation and technical quality. We must remain focused from beginning to end. Every player, whether starting or coming off the bench, must give their best to achieve our objective."

The Al Ain coach also expressed appreciation for the club's supporters but credited the players and coaching staff for the team's progress.

"I appreciate the fans' recognition, but the players are the foundation of the team's success and deserve praise for their efforts on the pitch. I work with a complete coaching staff, and we all give our maximum effort. We will continue doing our best."

Both coaches will be hoping their preparations translate into a strong performance as Shabab Al Ahli and Al Ain renew their rivalry in one of Matchweek 6's most anticipated encounters.
